Malabon Zoo to benefit from Post Office, AAP art tilt

MANILA – The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office), Art Association of the Philippines Inc. (AAP) and Malabon Zoo signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement to help Malabon Zoo that is in need of support and sustenance following its closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic health restrictions.

The Post Office and AAP have organized the 1st Philippine Postal Corporation Art Competition 2021 to promote the creative expression of the Filipinos and develop their artistic accomplishments at its highest level.

Some 10 percent of the event’s proceeds shall be donated to Malabon Zoo to help bring some relief to the animals.

Manny Tangco, president/founder of the Malabon Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Garden or commonly known as Malabon Zoo, welcomed this move by the Post Office and AAP to help in maintaining the zoo which has become famous for its wild animals, who were named after celebrities, actors, politicians and other personalities.

The Post Office and AAP announced that artists are still invited to submit their best representational art to the open theme competition. Any subject or artistic expression is welcome.

Malabon Zoo

Entry forms are also available online via its social media page. All interested applicants must be mindful of the mechanics, rules, and regulations governing the competition.

Participants’ artwork will be displayed at the iconic Manila Central Post Office. The Art exhibit shall be open to the public.

Entries should be submitted on Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Manila Central Post Office in Liwasang Bonifacio. The scheduled date for the awarding of winners shall be announced on the same date. (PR)
