ILOILO CITY –The deputy provincial director of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) was relieved from his post effective Wednesday after a female police officer filed an administrative case against him for pursuing her.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) spokesperson, Lt. Col. Arnel M. Solis, said on Wednesday that PRO6 regional director, Brig. Gen. Flynn E. Dongbo, ordered the relief of Lt. Col. Antonio B. Dizon, who will be reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU).

The complainant, also assigned at the GPPO, filed the case on Aug. 31, 2021 before the National Police Commission (Napolcom), Solis said.

“He will be at the RPHAU pending the investigation that is being conducted by the Napolcom. The Police Regional Office 6 is willing to help Napolcom if needed regarding its investigation of the complaint of the patrolwoman against Lt. Col. Dizon,” Solis added.

In an interview with local radio stations, Napolcom Western Visayas director Lawyer Joseph Celis said the complainant alleged that Dizon was courting her, even sent her flowers, and would summon her to his office which made her feel pressured.

However, the complainant did not entertain the respondent as Dizon is married while the female officer, with the rank of corporal, is still single.

“The complainant did not seek for reassignment,” Solis said.

Solis said the PRO 6 will no longer conduct a parallel investigation since Napolcom is already the right forum for the complainant to prove her allegation and for the respondent to present his answer.

Dongbo, in a statement, said his leadership will never tolerate any wrongdoings by either commissioned or non-commissioned officers or non-uniform personnel.

“As a public servant we are bound to work professionally and should be examples in abiding the laws of our land and policies in our workplace,” he said.

He added that Dizon will also be afforded due process. (PNA)
