DAVAO CITY - The city government here is urging unvaccinated residents to have themselves immunized as the city joins the three-day nationwide “Bayanihan Bakunahan” from November 29 to December 1.
In an interview on Friday, Genevere Tayo, a mother and the only unvaccinated person in their family, said she will see to it to join the anti-coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination drive.
“I am really afraid of getting vaccinated but I want to be protected. I will disregard fear this time and will try to get the jab,” she told Philippine News Agency here.
Tayo added that she also now has gained enough courage go to the vaccination site and have herself inoculated.
“This time I’m ready,” she said in the vernacular.
Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, city Covid-19 vaccination cluster head, said all public vaccination sites will be open on the National Vaccination Days, including the sites organized by the private sector.
“We have many vaccination sites open and we are asking everyone to avail of this because it is open all over the city on the 29th and 30th of November and December 1. Take time to go to the vaccination centers and have yourselves vaccinated.” Villafuerte said.
Residents who will get the first dose of the anti-Covid vaccine must bring their DQR (Davao quick response) code, valid identification document (ID) card, and pen, while those getting the second dose should bring their vaccination card.
Eligible minors for pediatric vaccination must bring their birth or baptismal certificates, valid ID, barangay certificate, or special power of attorney of guardianship if accompanied by guardians, and medical clearance from a pediatrician if with comorbidities.
“Walk-in is allowed all over the city. The Sangguniang Panlungsod under the office of Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte will also have mobile vaccination on those days,” Villafuerte added.
Villafuerte is hoping the three-day “Bayanihan Bakunahan”, in partnership with various agencies, would be able to achieve the target number of population protection of more than 1.2 million. (PNA)
