BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga (DSWD-1) has opened the Short Documentary Filmmaking Contest 2021 that will focus on the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The contest, with the theme “Mukha ng mga Benepisyaryo ng 4Ps sa Hamon ng Pandemya", is meant to produce inspirational stories essential to support the major strategies of the 4Ps program.

DSWD-13 information officer Marko Davey Reyes told Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Saturday the contest will start on Dec. 3 through an online orientation of participants via Zoom.

“The formal registration of the participants will also take place on Dec. 3 after the orientation,” Reyes said.

The contest will be open to all filmmakers, videographers, students, or anyone interested in video production, either in a group of five or an individual.

The DSWD-Caraga, in a statement on Friday, said two DSWD employees will be allowed to join any team of contestants but their participation will be limited to pre-production and post-production.

No registration fee will be asked from the contestants.

Reyes said submission of entries will be on Dec. 20 after which the announcement of winners will follow.

A cash prize of PHP45,000 will be awarded to the top winner, PHP35,000 as the second prize, and PHP20,000 for the third placer. (PNA)
