11 NegOcc public schools included in face-to-face classes

BACOLOD CITY – At least 11 public elementary and secondary schools in Negros Occidental have been added to the list of schools that will take part in the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes starting December 6.

In this capital city, only the Alangilan National High School qualified based on the safety assessment conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Health (DOH).

Councilor Renecito Novero, chairperson of the Bacolod City Council committee on education, said on Friday the DepEd should make sure that those who will participate in the face-to-face classes are already vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“We want to ensure that all teachers have already availed of the vaccine. Children aged 12 to 17 are also permitted to be vaccinated,” he added.

Other schools include Hiyang- Hiyang Elementary School in Cadiz City; Mabini National High School in Escalante City; Raymundo T. Tongson National High School in Himamaylan City; Colonia Divina Integrated School in Sagay City; and Don Carlos Ledesma National High School in San Carlos City.

Also on the list are Patag Diotay Elementary School in Silay City; Mauboy Elementary School in Sipalay City; Victorias National High School in Victorias City; Valladolid National High School in Valladolid town; and Aguntilang Elementary School in Isabela town. (PNA)
