CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO3) has dispatched responders to assist the victims of Typhoon Odette in Central Visayas.

Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, PRO3 regional director, said Tuesday the team headed to Cebu on board three trucks on Monday to distribute more than 1,000 relief packs to families affected by "Odette" last week.

He said the humanitarian move was their immediate response to the call of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos, to help fellow Filipinos especially in times of crisis.

“The Central Luzon cops, together with our stakeholders, recognize the crucial need of assisting our kababayans (countrymen) who greatly suffered from severe flooding brought about by the typhoon. This is the best time to extend our help and our provision of services to needy communities,” Baccay said in a social media post.

He noted that the PRO3 humanitarian team would also help in the clearing and other relief operations.

“Every member of the society should join hands and do the best we can to help those in need. Let the Bayanihan spirit live among us especially this time of crisis,” Baccay said. (PNA)
