Cebu Pacific cancels several domestic flights from Jan. 4 to 10

MANILA – Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) on Tuesday announced the cancellation of a number of its domestic flights "as a preemptive measure" in light of the stricter quarantine restriction imposed by the government in Metro Manila and nearby provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal.

CEB announced that as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, the following flights are canceled until January 10:

Affected passengers may rebook or refund their tickets or store the ticket value in a travel fund.

CEB said those who were transferred to other flights available on the same day were already informed.

The government has raised the alert level status in Metro Manila from Level 2 to Alert Level 3 from January 3 to 15.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) has also placed nearby provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal under Alert Level 3 from Jan. 5 to 15 due to rising Covid-19 infections.

On Tuesday, the Department of Health logged 5,434 new cases, increasing the country’s active cases to 29,809. (PNA)
