LEGAZPI CITY – The face-to-face administration of the Bicol University College Entrance Examination Test (BUCET) for schoolyear 2022-2023 has been postponed.

In a social media post, the BU administration said the resurgence and incremental growth in the cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Bicol at the start of the year prompted the deferment.

"Considering public health and safety, the Office of Admissions, with concurrence from the Office of the State University College (SUC) president IV and the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs would like to inform all BUCET applicants that the BUCET administration scheduled at the Bicol University-Main Campus and in decentralized testing centers on January 10 up to 31, 2022 is indefinitely postponed," the advisory read.

BU added it would issue another official advisory on the new date of examinations.

"When Covid-19 cases in the locality deescalate, warranting safer and onsite conduct of the BUCET or when adopting an alternative modality for screening incoming freshmen of Bicol University shall be resorted to, considering health exigencies that are beyond anyone’s control. Thank you and let us all keep safe," the advisory said. (PNA)
