2 nabbed, P27-M shabu seized in Caloocan, Makati ops

MANILA – Law enforcers have seized over PHP27 million worth of shabu from two drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Caloocan and Makati on Tuesday, a police official said on Wednesday.

In a report, Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, chief of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), identified the first suspect as 25-year-old Janesa Canoy.

The suspect yielded around two kilograms of shabu worth PHP13.6 million during the buy-bust along Langit Road corner Crusher Street, in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City at around 4:30 p.m.

Police also recovered two pieces of PHP1,000 bills, 15 bundles of boodle money, a pouch bag, and a mobile phone.

The suspect will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while the pieces of evidence seized in the operation were brought to PDEG in Camp Crame for documentation.

Meanwhile, members of the Southern Police District (SPD) seized PHP13.6 million worth of shabu from 21-year-old Aldren Mariscal in another operation along Evangelista St. corner Arnaiz Ave. in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City at around 5:30 p.m.

Mariscal yielded one plastic pack containing two kilograms of shabu two plastic bags, two reusable bags, PHP2,000 buy-bust money, and 898 pieces of PHP1,000 bill used as boodle money.

The suspect is now detained at the temporary custodial facility of the Makati City Police Station and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
