14 police officials promoted

MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos, promoted 14 senior police officials to their next higher rank during a short ceremony in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Wednesday.

Promoted to two-star rank were PNP Director for Logistics, Maj. Gen. Ronaldo Olay; Director for Operations, Maj. Gen. Valeriano de Leon; and Deputy Inspector General of the Internal Affairs Service (IAS), Maj. Gen. Rex Urbano.

Meanwhile, 11 other officials were promoted to one-star rank – Public Information Office chief, Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus B. Alba; Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon from the Office of the Chief PNP; Brig. Gen. Lyndon Mencio, area police commander for Western Mindanao; Brig. Gen. Dexter Rellora from the Directorate for Plans; Brig. Gen. Limson from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 (Eastern Visayas); Brig. Gen. Joaquin Alva from the Office of the Chief of the Directorial Staff; Brig. Gen. Ernesto Tendero Jr. from the PNP Academy; Brig. Gen. Pablo Labra II from the PRO-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region; Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masaluding from the Directorate for Comptrollership; Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Navarro from the IAS; and Brig. Gen. Baltazar Rivera from the PRO 4B (Mimaropa).

Carlos commended the promotees in this landmark in their career in the police service.

“The path you all went through is the same with the journey to success. It has not been an easy one. It has not been traversed overnight, rather it has been uphill all of the way. You were promoted to a higher rank of great importance because of your dedication, consistency, persistence, and commitment to public service," Carlos said in a statement Wednesday night.

He said as true public servants, they have to focus on the firm foundations of integrity and credibility.

“May this significant breakthrough in your careers inspire you to become better public servants and police officers as we sustain the efforts of good governance and our tireless pursuit of excellence and integrity," Carlos added. (PNA)
