MANILA – There will be “sweet” rewards for children aged five to 11 years old who will avail of Covid-19 vaccines in Makati City.

In a statement on Friday, Mayor Abby Binay said they are ready for next week’s inoculation, including take-home premium chocolate products for the youngest age group in the national vaccination program.

“The sweet treats are meant to reward them and, at the same time, make them happy,” Binay said.

The city government will utilize the SM mall and the Nemesio I. Yabut Elementary School as initial venues.

Both venues will strictly impose a “no walk-in” policy.

Parents and guardians are urged to sign up their kids via https://covid19vaccine.safemakati.com/. Non-residents are welcome.

The pilot vaccination of the 5-11 group in Metro Manila will start on Monday using the 780,000 doses of the reformulated low-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine that will arrive Friday night.

Another 780,000 doses will be delivered on February 9.

Binay also urged her constituents to avail of booster shots.

Based on the city's latest data, 488,858 “Makatizens” are already fully vaccinated, with 123,696 of them also with booster shots. (PNA)
