PH logs 3,651 new Covid-19 cases, over 12K recoveries

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 3,651 new cases of Covid-19, with active cases now dropping below 100,000, and 12,834 new recoveries.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH said active cases are now at 96,326, with about 95 percent only showing mild symptoms, including the asymptomatic.

About 87,385 are showing mild symptoms, 4,150 are asymptomatic, 3,029 have moderate symptoms, 1,447 have severe symptoms, and 315 are in critical condition.

It reported 69 new deaths, with the country’s total deaths making up 1.51 percent of confirmed cases.

Based on the latest testing data, there were 29,970 Covid-19 tests administered on Monday with a positivity rate of 16.5 percent.

To date, there are 3,900 beds at intensive care units (ICU) in the country at 40 percent occupancy, 20,800 isolation beds at 36 percent occupancy, 15,300 ward beds at 32 percent occupancy, and 19 percent of 3,100 ventilators are in use.

In the National Capital Region alone, there are 1,300 ICU beds at 32 percent occupancy, 4,700 isolation beds at 29 percent occupancy, 4,200 ward beds at 30 percent occupancy, and 18 percent of 1,000 ventilators are in use. (PNA)
