GENERAL SANTOS CITY – The police office here received Monday eight brand new vehicles from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Central Office to boost its services to the public.

Col. Paul Bometivo, acting city police director, said the arrival of the new vehicles from the PNP – Manila headquarters amounting to PHP14 million is timely.

“It will greatly help us in our daily activities, especially in the conduct of police visibility, police response, and Commission on Elections checkpoints,” he said.

Bometivo said the new vehicles form part of the continuing effort of the PNP to upgrade the facilities and equipment of local police units through its capability enhancement program.

Also on Monday, Bometivo facilitated the distribution of the eight 4x2 Toyota Hi-Lux patrol vehicles in front of the GSCPO administration building in Camp Fermin Lira here.

The eight vehicles were distributed to police stations in Barangays Pendatun, Makar, Tambler, Fatima, Bula, San Isidro, Lagao, and Tinagacan.

Bometivo said the additional vehicles will enable GSCPO personnel to do their part in maintaining peace and order in the city. (PNA)
