P1-M worth of shabu seized in Bacolod, Silay sting ops

BACOLOD CITY – Some PHP1.025 million worth of suspected shabu were seized by police operatives in a series of buy-busts in this provincial capital and the neighboring Silay City in the past two days.

A report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Police Office said suspect Jojemar Lopez, 29, yielded PHP136,000 worth of the prohibited substance during operation at Buenavista Subdivision, Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City on Tuesday night.

The poseur buyer met with Lopez, who sold him PHP1,600 worth of shabu.

Also found in his possession were seven plastic sachets containing 20 grams worth PHP136,000.

In Bacolod on the same day, suspect Rogelio Canoy, 47, was arrested by personnel of Police Station 3 at around 4:10 p.m. in Purok Bulak, Barangay Mandalagan.

Tagged as a street-level individual, Canoy sold PHP500 worth of shabu to an undercover policeman. He also yielded 16 plastic sachets of the prohibited substance, weighing 3.8 grams, with a value of PHP25,840.

At 3:45 p.m., a couple was arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit in Gardenville Subdivision, Barangay Tangub.

They were identified as Roberto Dingcong, 41 and Jenny Babes Montealto, 25.

A poseur buyer was able to purchase PHP3,000 in shabu from the suspects, leading to their arrest. They also yielded 113 grams of the same prohibited substance valued with a standard drug price of PHP768,400 and PHP200 cash.

The arrested persons were endorsed to the custody of Police Station 8.

A few minutes earlier, operatives of Police Station 2 arrested three persons arrested in Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8 at around 3:37 p.m.

The two suspects were identified as Dinafe Solmayor, 26, a resident of the same village; and Levi Isaac Espinosa, 21, of Country Homes, Barangay Estefania.

The third is a 16-year-old boy also residing in Barangay 8.

The suspects yielded six sachets of shabu weighing about four grams valued at PHP27,200.

On Monday evening, operatives of Police Staton 4 arrested suspect Rolly Ramos, 45, in Purok 42 Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte also in this city.

Operatives seized from his possession three sachets of shabu along with the PHP500 buy-bust money. The confiscated prohibited grams weighed about 10 grams valued at PHP68,000. (PNA)
