1K bike enthusiasts join campaign for safe, peaceful polls

LEGAZPI CITY – More than 1,170 participants from various government agencies, including the Commission on Elections, and Department of Interior and Local Government, and cycling enthusiasts joined the fun bike calling for a safe, peaceful local and national elections.

The "Fun Bike para sa Ligtas at Mapayapang National and Local Election 2022" on Thursday was led by the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5).

Maj. Malu Calubaquib, in an interview, said the "Fun Bike" was developed not just to physically prepare but also to strengthen the bond between the government and the community for a safe and peaceful 2022 elections.

Ang bawat pagpedal ng mga kalahok ay simbolo ng kagustuhan na maibigay sa mga Bicolano ang seguridad at kapanatagan sa kanilang pagpunta sa kani-kanilang nakatalagang presinto para bumoto (For every pedal of the participants is a symbol of desire to give the Bicolanos peace and security when they go to their respective precincts to vote),” she added.

The 21-kilometer Fun Bike was launched simultaneously and participated in by all Police Provincial Offices (PPOs) in Bicol.

In a statement, Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Bicol director, thanked the participants for their cooperation.

Nais kong pasalamatan ang lahat ng nakiisa sa ating fun bike ngayong araw partikular na ang ating mga counterparts sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan at lalo na sa mga pribadong grupo at indibidwal. Ito ay patunay ng ating matibay na samahan at pagkakaisa at pagpapakita ng ating sinseridad sa paghahangad ng isang malinis, tahimik at maayos na halalan ngayong taon (I would like to thank all participants particularly our counterpants in different agencies of the government especially the private sectors and individuals.
