Ayton drops career-high 35 points as Suns get 6th straight win

ANKARA – The Phoenix Suns beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 125-116 in Wednesday's NBA match-up.

Deandre Ayton led the Suns with his double double, a career-high 35 points and 14 rebounds, at Target Center in Minneapolis.

The Suns' guard Devin Booker, who reached the 11,000-point mark for his career and became the fourth-youngest player in NBA history to get there after LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant, backed Ayton up with his 28 points.

None of the Timberwolves' players could pass the 20-point-mark in the game. Anthony Edwards became the Wolves' top scorer with 19 points.

The Western Conference-leading Suns has 59 win and 14 loses, after their sixth straight victory in the league, while the Minnesota Timberwolves placed 7th with 42 wins and 32 loses in the Western standings.

The Suns have already secured a spot in the 2022 NBA playoffs that will start on April 16.

Mavericks beat Rockets

The Dallas Mavericks won against the Houston Rockets 110-91 at home.

Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie led the Mavericks with their 28 and 26 points, respectively, at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Rockets' two double doubles: Turkish center Alperen Sengun's 14 points and 11 rebounds and US forward Christian Wood's 12 points and 10 rebounds, were not enough for a victory.

The Houston may be suffering a scoring problem as no player in the team could pass the 15-point-mark in the game.

The Mavericks placed 5th with 45 wins and 28 defeats while the Rockets seems anchored to the bottom of the standings, placed 15th, with 18 wins and 55 loses in the Western conference.

The Rockets have already been eliminated from playoffs contention.
