BACOLOD CITY – The city government here received 500 vials, which is equivalent to 5,000 doses, of Moderna coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) jabs from the Lucio Tan (LT) Group of Companies on Friday.

The vaccine donation, intended for booster shots of Bacolodnons, was received by City Administrator Edward Joseph Cuansing from Asia Brewery Inc. vice president Ronaldo Tan, market territory manager Michael Miranda, and LT Group Inc. investor relations officer Annabelle Marie Arceo at the Bacolod City Government Center.

“This is the third time the LT Group of Companies donated bulk vaccines to the city,” Cuansing said.

Tan said they donated the booster doses to further strengthen the city’s vaccination campaign.

Last January, the LT Group also turned over 600 doses of Moderna jabs, and in November last year, 700 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to the city government.

In Bacolod, some 493,012 individuals aged 18 to 59 as well as 76,272 senior citizens are already fully vaccinated as of April 1, data from the Department of Health-Western Visayas showed.

Also fully vaccinated are 42,215 minors in the 12 to 17 age group and 2,456 among the 5 to 11 year-olds, it further showed. (PNA)
