DAVAO CITY -- The City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO) said it will assist non-operational cooperatives in the city complete their requirements to avoid dissolution.
"Of the 756 total number of coops as of 2020, only 400 are operating and some 300 that are not and bound for dissolution. We will help them comply with their requirements so they can operate fully," said CCDO chief Luzminda Eblamo over Davao City Disaster Radio on Friday.
CCDO has recently launched the "Koop Serbisyo Caravan," which will run until April 29.
Eblamo said this is a way to help the organizational viability and business sustainability of the micro and small cooperatives.
The caravan’s main objective is to ensure that the cooperatives are compliant with the requirements of the cooperative policies through the submission of reports to the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), she said.
“We have proven that in the past three years, Serbisyo Caravan increased the number of the compliant cooperative. This is why we make sure that we do it every first quarter of the year,” she added.
The caravan is a one-stop-shop of agencies that process the requirements of the cooperatives.
She also shared they provide free training to help cooperatives, especially the small and micro cooperatives and those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic to recover and sustain their businesses. (PNA)
