LTFRB opens more ‘Libreng Sakay’ routes in C. Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) regional office here opened more routes offering “Libreng Sakay” (free rides) to healthcare workers and authorized persons outside residence (APORs) in Central Luzon.

LTFRB Regional Director Nasrudin U. Talipasan said on Tuesday the transport service cooperatives offering free rides to commuters under the Service Contracting Program (Phase 3) are those plying routes in the provinces of Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Tarlac, and Zambales.

Participating transport service cooperatives are servicing the following routes: Barangay Lagundi-Mexico-Macabebe via NLEX; Arayat-San Fernando via Sta. Ana-Mexico; Government Center (Sacop)-City of San Fernando-Downtown Hall via MacArthur Highway; Lazatin Avenue-Capitol Boulevard-Jose Abad Santos Avenue (Loop Service) Barangay Lagundi; Mexico-Porac via Megadike; Malolos-SM City Pampanga/Robinsons Starmills via NLEX, Malolos City-Meycauayan, Bulacan via NLEX, Minuyan Road, Sapang Palay-Barangay Kaypia, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan via City Hall (Dulong Bayan), Grotto-Sapang Palay via Tungko Manga, Grotto Shop and Ride-Minuyan Loop via Poblacion; Paniqui-Tarlac via Gerona; Tarlac-Bamban via Capas; Bagac-Balanga and vice versa; San Roque-Santa Ignacia via New Salem-Sulipa-Gerona; San Manuel-SM Tarlac via Moncada; Paniqui and Gerona; Tarlac City-Burnot via San Miguel; Balanga-Orani via Abucay; and Samal, Subic, San Narciso via Subic Shipyard, San Antonio, Zambales and Subic-San Felipe via San Antonio, Zambales.

Talipasan said they expect more routes to open in the region.

A total of 492,019 commuters in the region have so far availed of the Libreng Sakay from April 13-25. (PNA)
