BUTUAN CITY – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has lauded the PHP154 million withholding tax remittance of the Agusan del Sur provincial government for 2021.
Provincial Accountant Joy Dy-Lagat said Revenue District Officer Marco Antonio Calo personally handed over Wednesday the plaque of appreciation for the province's tax payments.
It was received by Provincial Administrator Ronulfo Paler, who represented Agusan del Sur Gov. Santiago Cane Jr.
“The plaque recognized the concerted efforts of the provincial government as a withholding tax agent in helping the BIR achieve its collection goal,” Lagat said.
Lagat also lauded the leaders and employees of the provincial government on the success in the collection of withholding tax last year, which she described as a “milestone” for Agusan del Sur.
“May we always support and empower each other through our passion to serve the public,” Lagat said.
The BIR also recognized the local government unit of Sibagat in Agusan del Sur for the remittance of PHP11.4 million withholding tax last year. (PNA)
