MANILA – All passport and consular services are suspended on election day on May 9, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Friday.

"The Department of Foreign Affairs advises the public that the operations in all Consular Offices nationwide will be suspended on 09 May 2022, in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 1357, which declared the day of the 2022 National and Local Elections as a special non-working holiday," the DFA advisory stated.

The DFA said walk-in applications for passport and authentication or apostille are likewise closed on Monday.

Consular operations will resume on May 10. (PNA)
