DAVAO CITY – Whether she wins or loses in the May 9 polls, vice presidential bet Mayor Sara Z. Duterte said Monday her camp has prepared thanksgiving activities from May 10 to 13 for individuals and groups that helped her candidacy.

"We have prepared thanksgiving activities to personally thank them for their help for the past 90 days campaign," she said in an interview.

Duterte said she will be in Manila on May 10 to kick off her four-day thanksgiving by meeting her supporters at the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats headquarters in Mandaluyong.

"We scheduled it per group. I will meet them to personally thank them," Duterte said, even as she lauded the support of parallel groups throughout the campaign period.

An online thanksgiving will also be on May 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon via the Mayor Inday Sara Duterte official Facebook page.

One of Duterte’s 90-day campaign highlights was the Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride (MNPR), where she embarked on a month-long country loop caravan to campaign for unity, peace, and patriotism. The ride was an eye-opener as she was able to assess firsthand grassroot situations, local development, and the living conditions of Filipinos in the countryside.

During the nationwide caravan, she met with people, inaugurated local headquarters, and attended sorties mostly organized by allied politicians and volunteer support groups.

Duterte added that they have scheduled a gift giving activity for Dabawenyos after their thanksgiving in Manila.

“Meron tayong scheduled na pasasalamat (We have scheduled thanksgiving) — actually gift giving for Davao City. And whether manalo or matalo, naka schedule na yung gift giving natin sa mga (win or lose, gift giving has been set for) depressed areas and less fortunate natin na mga constituents dito sa (to our constituents here in) Davao City,” she said.

The gift giving will enjoin Duterte’s local slate to pay tribute to local leaders who helped during the campaign.

“There will also be a thanksgiving for leaders sa (in) Davao City. Inaantay lang po namin kung sino ang mananalo sa Congress and sa party-list (We will just wait for whoever wins in Congress and party-list) since we already discussed that,” she said.

Prepared for whatever the election results will be, Duterte said they eye to forge alliance with winning candidates in Davao City to ensure sustained growth and development.

“Immediately, after the proclamation of local candidates, we’ll have an alliance formed sa lahat ng mga kandidato sa (with all candidates in) Davao City so that for the next three years, magtutulungan ang lahat ng mananalo para po ma-maximize natin ang fundings and projects para po sa (all the winners will help each other to maximize the fundings and projects for) Davao City,” she added.
