SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, ANTIQUE – Reelectionists Governor Rhodora Cadiao and Vice Governor Edgar Denosta received fresh mandates following their proclamation on Tuesday as winners of the May 9 polls.

They were proclaimed together with Antonio Agapito Legarda, who replaced his sister Rep. Loren Legarda as the province’s lone district representative in Congress.

Antique Provincial Board of Canvassers chairperson Provincial Election Supervisor Wil Arceño said they proclaimed the winners despite some glitches on the vote counting machines and difficulty in the transmission of results from far-flung areas in the province.

"We have a lot of projects under this administration such as the expansion of the Lipata Port in Culasi, and a pier in Malandog in San Jose de Buenavista under the one time, big time, which we will need the board members support," Cadiao said.

Denosta joined the call of Cadiao for all elected officials, especially mayors, to work together with the provincial government.

He is thankful to be the first vice-governor of the province to be given a third and final mandate by their constituents.

"Under the new term, the provincial board  will already have a face to face session unlike before when it was a virtual session," he added.

Legarda also called on all candidates who won the local election to work with him to continue the development of the province.

"For me, it is now time to roll my sleeves and get working," he added.

Also proclaimed winners from southern Antique were reelectionist Board Members Mayella Mae Plameras-Ladislao, Alfie Jay Niquia, and Pio Jessielito Sumande, and returning Board Member Dante Beriong, Egidio Elio, and Rony Molina.

From the north, the elected Board Members are reelectionist Karmila Dimamay, Noel Alamis, Victor Condez, and Sueki Palacious. (PNA)
