MANILA – The entire Mindanao and eastern Visayas will experience rains due to the low-pressure area (LPA) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting the island, the weather bureau said Friday.

Ezra Bulquerin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the LPA was last tracked at 180 km. east-southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast over Mindanao and eastern Visayas.

According to PAGASA, flash floods or landslides are likely in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

No weather disturbance is affecting Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Bulquerin said.

"It will be warm and humid across Luzon. Generally, fair weather will prevail over the rest of the country, with isolated rain showers that may be experienced for a short period," he said.

The temperature in Tuguegarao could rise to 36°C; in Metro Manila, 35°C; and in Laoag, 34°C.

In Cebu and Iloilo, it could reach up to 33°C, and in the Zamboanga Peninsula, up to 32°C.

Tacloban and Davao's temperatures may reach 31°C.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail across the country. (PNA)
