CEBU CITY – Information gathered from suspects arrested in previous anti-drug sting operations led to the arrest of a jobless man who yielded about PHP4.7 million worth of suspected shabu here on Tuesday night.

Lt. Arnel Ancheta, deputy chief of the Mambaling Police Station, said drug personalities arrested last month were instrumental in the arrest of Bryan Duello Justol, 20, resident of Sitio Riverside, Barangay Duljo-Fatima of this city.

In a joint buy-bust operation by the Mambaling cops and the City Drug Enforcement Unit at C. Padilla St. in the said barangay, authorities confiscated from Justol about 700 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP4.7 million.

“Bali ito yung follow up operation dun sa previous month nung nakuha natin na dalawang kilo. Mga kasamahan sa follow up operation, ito yung isa sa mga tinuro ng mga nahuli (This is the result of our follow-up operation in the previous month when we seized 2 kilos of shabu. His colleagues arrested in the follow-up operation pointed at him),” Ancheta said.

Ancheta identified Justol as a high-value personality classified as a “dealer” considering that he personally oversees the distribution of the drug supply under his disposal.

Authorities are placing the suspect under tactical interrogation in the hope to arrest more drug personalities who might have a link with his drug group.

In April, the police nabbed a logistics firm worker, a food delivery rider, and one other suspect in two separate operations and seized more than PHP80 million worth of suspected shabu.

Justol is now facing charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022. (PNA)
