COTABATO CITY – Two big-time drug peddlers were killed, two others arrested, and P204,000 worth of shabu seized in a law enforcement operation Thursday dawn in North Cotabato.

One of the fatalities, Ebrahim Samama, was named a high-value target by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Soccsksargen Region (PDEA-12).

PDEA-12 Director Naravy Duquiatan said Samama was also one of the more than 60 detainees who bolted the North Cotabato provincial jail in Kidapawan City in 2017.

“Samama’s group resisted and opened fire upon seeing the approaching lawmen in Barangay Balacayon, Pigcawayan,” she said in a report.

PDEA-12 agents, backed by troopers from the Army’s 34th Infantry Battalion, neutralized Samama and his cohort, identified only as a certain Mamako.

Two other followers of Samama, identified as Guiahed Akmad and Ali Kamsa, surrendered to the raiding team.

Duquiatan said the raiding team also found more than PHP204,000 worth of shabu, two M16 rifles, an M14 rifle, two .45-caliber pistols, a Kevlar helmet, and a bulletproof vest at the group’s hideout. (PNA)
