MANILA – An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday said an investigation is being conducted on the video circulating regarding the purported election documents supposedly left in Amadeo, Cavite.

Comelec Acting Spokesman John Rex Laudiangco said the matter has been referred to proper offices since last night.

“Last night, we informed the Regional Election Directors of Region 4-A and the National Capital Region (NCR), as well as the Provincial Election Supervisor of Cavite, as well as the Packing and Shipping Committee,” he added in a Viber message.

“The investigation is ongoing,” the poll body official said.

On the other hand, Laudiangco said they already received the four election returns (ERs) from Masbate, Quezon, and Cebu, which, according to the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), are questionable.

“Information was already relayed to the Comelec via PPCRV’s email to the Steering Committee and the IT (Information Technology) Department,” he said.

“Investigation’s underway,” the Comelec official added.

The Church-based election watchdog is the poll body’s accredited citizens’ arm in the just-concluded May 9 elections. (PNA)
