Only 14 of 98 Zambo City villages with active Covid-19 cases

ZAMBOANGA CITY – There are only 14 villages with active cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) here, data from the City Health Office showed Saturday.

This highly-urbanized city has 98 villages with a population of 977,234 as of the 2020 census.

Of the 20 active cases, Barangay Divisoria has the highest with three; Canelar, Mercedes, Santa Catalina, and Tumaga have two cases each; while with one each are Buenavista, Calarian, Lunzuran, San Jose Gusu, San Roque, Sinunuc, Tetuan, Vitali, and Zambowood.

The City Health Office said 18 of the 20 active cases were acquired through community transmission and the other two are detainees.

Fifty percent of the active cases are asymptomatic, 35 percent have mild symptoms, and 15 percent moderate.

There are already 27,913 recoveries out of the total 29,176 total infections while 1,243 have died since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

Included among the 27,913 recoveries are 416 detainees, 379 locally stranded individuals, 361 authorized persons outside residence, and 33 returning overseas Filipinos. (PNA)
