DIGOS CITY – A policeman died from multiple gunshot wounds on Tuesday morning after being shot by still unidentified gunmen in Matanao town, Davao del Sur.
Capt. Flor Daisy Angga, Matanao acting police chief, identified the victim as Patrolman Hariz Jhun Adayo, 26, of Poblacion Uno, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.
Angga said Adayo was attacked while onboard his motorbike while heading to neighboring Hagonoy town from Bansalan, via the provincial road in Matanao town.
Upon reaching Barangay New Visayas in Matanao town, the gunmen onboard a motorcycle fired at Adayo several times before speeding off.
Responders brought Adayo to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City but attending physicians failed to revive him.
Police probers are still investigating the incident. (PNA)
