BAGUIO CITY – More than 4,000 operators of public utility vehicles (PUVs) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are set to receive fuel subsidy from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

"May pantawid pasada na PHP6,500 na hindi lang para sa PUJ (public utility jeepneys), kundi kasama ang PUB (public utility buses), public utility mini buses, taxi, UV (utility vehicle), tourist transport at shuttle service (There is PHP6,500 assistance that is not just for the PUJ but includes PUB, mini buses, taxi, UV, tourist transport and shuttle service),” Lalaine Sobremonte, LTFRB-CAR regional director, said in a media interview on Wednesday.

“Na-print na ang fuel card (the fuel card has been printed). Starting June 6, they can be received," she added.

Sobremonte said the list of beneficiaries is posted on the website and official social media pages of the LTFRB-Cordillera.

She said there is a downloadable form that the beneficiary has to accomplish and submit to receive the fuel card.

Sobremonte reminded about 300 beneficiaries who qualified for the first tranche of the fuel subsidy to claim their cards.

Among the reasons she cited for the non-claiming of fuel subsidy cards included the operator residing or working abroad or the franchise has been sold.

"The subsidy is named to the operator and they have to present a document authorizing them to claim," she said. (PNA)
