MANILA – Two alleged illegal drug dealers were killed in a buy-bust that yielded PHP68 million worth of shabu in Quezon City, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad said on Wednesday.

Based on the report of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, Natividad said police officers transacted with the suspects Ronnie Montoya, 29, and Jay Montoya, 32.

The two were killed during the operation at around 3:45 p.m. on Monday along Pook Arboretum Road, Barangay UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.

The report said the suspects sensed that they were dealing with a police officer and drew their firearms and fired on the law enforcer, prompting authorities to retaliate.

The suspects were rushed to East Avenue Medical Center but were pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician.

Recovered from the suspects were an Eco bag and a white sack containing green tea packs where white crystalline substance, suspected to be shabu, was found inside.

The seized illegal drugs weighed more or less 10 kilograms with an estimated value of PHP68 million. (PNA)
