Zambo City logs 95% recoveries, stays under Alert Level 1

ZAMBOANGA CITY – This city has tallied a total of 27,918 recoveries or a 95.64 percent recovery rate since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, the City Health Office (CHO) said Wednesday.

In a statement, the CHO said the city has recorded 29,189 cumulative cases, 25 active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), and 1,246 deaths.

Of the total recoveries, 26,347 are from the community; 416, detainees; 379, locally stranded individuals (LSIs); 361, authorized persons outside residence (APOR); 217, persons deprived of liberty (PDL); 89, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) personnel; 72, Bureau of Corrections (BuCor); 33, returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs); four returning residents from Malaysia.

The CHO said 23 of the 25 active cases are from the community and the remaining two are detainees. It noted that the active Covid-19 cases are spread out in 15 barangays of this city’s 98 villages.

At least 52 percent of the active cases are asymptomatic; 24 percent with mild symptoms; and, 24 percent moderate.

Of the total deaths, 1,236 are from the community; four BJMP personnel; three detainees; APOR, one; BuCor, one; and, LSI, one.

Meanwhile, the local Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IAT-EID) said the city will remain under Alert Level 1 from June 1 to 15.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the Alert Level 1 is under an approved resolution of the national IATF-EID. (PNA)
