TACLOBAN CITY – At least 500 local jobs are available for pandemic-hit job seekers in Eastern Visayas on Independence Day (June 12), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) field office said on Wednesday.

In a statement, DOLE Regional Director Henry John Jalbuena said 33 local employers are joining the job fair at the Robinsons North here in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Among the available vacancies include nurses, accounting staff, call center agents, drivers, production crew, store supervisors, cashiers, bartenders,  and customer service representatives.

Jalbuena thanked the participating employers and urged other establishments to join DOLE in its pursuit to contribute to economic recovery and growth through employment generation.

"Again, we thank our employers for their usual support in this significant endeavour and I hope other employers will follow and take part as well in the upcoming Kalayaan Job Fair," he said in a statement.

“To our job seekers here in Eastern Visayas, see you at the venue and we hope this time you’ll land the job you’ve been aspiring for,” Jalbuena added.

A short program before the job fair will be held with messages from key stakeholders to be followed by awarding of livelihood projects to beneficiaries. (PNA)
