ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police operatives arrested a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) listed as the sixth most wanted person in the Zamboanga Peninsula, an official said Thursday.
Col. Alexander Lorenzo, the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said Jain Adjanal was served a warrant around 4:26 p.m. Wednesday in Lamitan City, Basilan.
Lorenzo said Adjanal, 37, is a member of the Basilan-based Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).
Adjanal has a standing warrant of arrest issued by a court in Isabela City, Basilan, in July 2007 for nine counts of murder with no recommended bail.
“Let us continue our efforts to reduce all lawbreakers in our region so that the affected parties could receive prompt justice,” Lorenzo said. (PNA)
