BUTUAN CITY – Some 14,000 jobs will be available at the Independence Day Jobs Fair on June 12 at the Robinsons Place here, the regional labor department said Thursday.

In a statement, the Department of Labor and Employment in Caraga Region (DOLE-13) said 1,259 local jobs will be opened during the fair by 48 participating employers.

Local employers will be hiring bus conductors, bus drivers, production workers, field collectors, and service drivers, it said.

“A total of 13,194 overseas jobs will also be offered by seven recruitment agencies during the jobs fair,” the agency added.

Overseas jobs will include nurses, caregivers, construction workers, housekeepers, and drivers.

DOLE-13 said first-time jobseekers hired on the spot will receive an RT-PCR (Reverse transcription-polymerase Chain Reaction) coupon, which can be used at any testing centers in the region duly accredited by the Department of Health.

A livelihood help desk will also be opened during the fair to showcase livelihood promotional videos and for the distribution of information materials.

“There will be a one-stop-shop for the jobseekers that will be supported by the different line agencies of the government,” DOLE-13 said.

The agencies include the Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Tourism, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Home Development Mutual Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Trade and Industry, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. (PNA)
