BUTUAN CITY – Caraga Region’s fourth most wanted person was arrested during a manhunt operation in Davao Oriental province.

In a statement Friday, Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., the Police Regional Office - Caraga (PRO-13) director, said Luciano Bayarcal, 54, of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Barangay Dacudao, San Isidro, Davao Oriental.

Bayarcal has a standing arrest warrant issued on May 4, 2022 by the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur for qualified rape in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
