DAVAO CITY – The Office of Vice President-elect Sara Z. Duterte announced Tuesday that her law school classmate, lawyer Reynold Munsayac, will replace Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco as her spokesperson.

Munsayac's appointment takes effect today, June 21. Frasco, meanwhile, takes office as the next Tourism secretary on June 30.

“It is an honor to serve as spokesperson for Vice President-elect Sara Z. Duterte, a great leader and a good person. I thank her for her trust and confidence in me,” Munsayac told the Philippine News Agency in an interview.

It was Munsayac who filed Duterte's candidacy two days before the deadline for substitution of election aspirants on November 15, 2022.

According to the VP-elect's office, Munsayac was the valedictorian of his law school class and a practicing lawyer.

In 2017, Munsayac assisted Duterte in the establishment of the worldwide aggrupation of Duterte supporters “Tapang at Malasakit.”

In 2021, Munsayac resigned as commissioner and acting chairman of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) to help campaign for Inday Sara.

“Munsayac’s professional portfolio is highlighted by his unquestionable integrity and dedication to governance and public service, and the Vice President-elect is confident that he will be able to bring this experience to his new duty,” the VP-elect's statement read.

It also said Inday Sara is grateful for Mayor Frasco’s help “in the timely and effective communication of her messages to the Filipinos through the media.”

“Inday Sara wishes the incoming Secretary of the Department of Tourism Frasco all the best in her new role in nation-building,” the statement added. (PNA)
