BACOLOD CITY – A top drug personality in the province was arrested by joint police operatives in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, some five months after she evaded arrest during a buy-bust in the province’s northernmost city.

The suspect, Jean Marquez Compacion, 31, is the number two personality in the illegal drugs watchlist and the third most wanted person of the San Carlos Component City Police Station.

"She is tagged as among the most wanted and is under the illegal drug watchlist at the same time,” said Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, director of Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6).

At around 8 a.m., Compacion was collared at her residence in Sto. Rosario, Barangay Rizal when the police served her the warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 with no recommended bail.

The warrant was issued by Judge Kathrine Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 59 on Feb. 24, 2022.

The operation was conducted by joint personnel San Carlos City police, 2nd Maneuver Platoon’s 605th Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion-Western Visayas, and Philippine National Police Maritime Group.

Last January 12, Compacion was able to escape during a buy-bust in Barangay Guadalupe.

Her live-in partner, Joel Rizardo, however, was arrested and the operatives seized from his possession PHP10.2 million worth of suspected shabu.

Rizardo, a high-value individual, was the number one priority target on the local drugs watchlist. (PNA)
