DAVAO CITY – The City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) will promote Davao City's new destination sites through its newly-launched online travel show “Laag Davao” (Explore Davao).

CTOO chief Generose Tecson said Thursday the program aims to introduce the new landmarks while promoting Davao's old favorite tourist spots.

“(Since the pandemic), the city has witnessed several travel sites blossom. There are lots of areas where you can go here in Davao and Laag Davao will bring them to these places,” Tecson said, adding the project will run for six months with new episodes monthly.

Tecson said the show is part of the city government’s intensified promotions campaign to jumpstart the local tourism industry.

For its first episode, host Astrid Tejano Gopo featured various shopping destinations here, ranked from affordable to luxurious ones.

Each episode will be thematic on the different activities one can do in the city.

Gopo, a newly-minted lawyer, said it has been an enriching experience to get to know Davao City once again after two years of the pandemic.

“Working on this show has been one of the most enriching life experiences I’ve had so far. It is such a blessing to be able to pursue what I love in the city that I love the most,” Gopo said.

Laag Davao will be shown online on the social media platforms of the City Government of Davao and the City Tourism Operations Office. (PNA)
