MANILA – The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will end its free antigen testing for passengers by June 30.

In an advisory, the MRT-3 said the free service—meant to combat the spread of Covid-19 in public transportation—is still offered at the North Avenue and Shaw Boulevard stations from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and at Cubao and Shaw Boulevard stations from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“Kailangan lamang na lumapit sa testing areas sa nasabing mga istasyon at punan ang consent form na ibibigay (They only need to bring themselves to the testing areas at the said stations and fill up the consent form provided),” it said.

The program was launched on January 11 through a partnership between the MRT-3 and the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

It noted that not a single person has been found positive for Covid-19 through the program since January 28.

On the other hand, the "libreng sakay" (free ride) service at the MRT-3 is set to end on June 30, more than three months since the program began in March. (PNA)
