DUMAGUETE CITY – Three men died on the spot when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into the rear of a 10-wheeler truck in Basay town in Negros Oriental Monday evening.
A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) on Tuesday identified the victims as Jhay Elarcosa, Rodelio Manlangit Jr., and Marlon Tumimbang, all residents of Barangay Actin.
Initial police investigation showed that the three were on board a motorcycle around 10:17 p.m., traveling from the town proper to Barangay Actin, when they rammed into a truck parked on the side of the road.
The three were thrown off the motorcycle and died on the spot due to head injuries.
The truck appeared to have been left on the roadside by the driver after it encountered a mechanical problem.
The driver of the truck still has to be identified, the police report said. (PNA)
