BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Agriculture in the Caraga Region (DA-13) is holding a two-day technology forum that seeks to impart new and advanced farm technologies to local farmers.

The 8th Regional Technology Forum, which will run from June 28 to 29, is joined by some 100 farmers, agricultural extension workers, and other stakeholders from the different municipalities in the region.

“The two-day event will showcase relevant information on newly generated technologies in agriculture and fisheries,” DA-13 said in a statement Tuesday.

DA-13 Director Ricardo Oñate Jr., who opened the forum, said activities include onsite visits to the Del Monte Lowland Rain-fed Research Station, the Tagbina Research Station in Surigao del Sur, and the Trento Research Station in Agusan del Sur.

“We encourage our farmers to apply the new agricultural technologies introduced, for them to innovate, and to come up with ideas that will maximize their profit and grow their business,” he said. (PNA)
