Active Covid-19 cases in Caraga up to 29

BUTUAN CITY – Caraga Region's active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19)  cases have now risen to 29 from 14 in the previous week, the regional health department said Tuesday.

In its weekly report, the Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13) said 15 new Covid-19 cases have been logged from June 19 to 25.

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Agusan del Sur with three, and in the cities of Butuan (9), Bislig (1), and Surigao (2).

“With the new confirmed positive cases, the total number of infections in the Caraga Region now stands at 59,004,” DOH-13 said.

Seven new recoveries were also recorded in the area last week bringing the total number of recoveries to 56,762.

No Covid-19-related deaths were recorded in Caraga during the period, with the death toll remaining at 2,213.

With the rise in cases, DOH-13 reiterated anew its call for residents to avail of the government's free vaccination program.

On Monday, the agency reported a 72.29 percent vaccination rate in the region, with a total of 3,426,882 doses of Covid-19 vaccines administered. (PNA)
