P3.4-M ‘shabu’ seized from high-value target in CamSur

LEGAZPI CITY – Joint police and anti-drug forces in Camarines Sur have seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million from a high-value target during an operation on Friday.

Maj. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 (Bicol) spokesperson, said the suspect was nabbed in Zone 3, Barangay Matacla, Goa, Camarines Sur while being served a search warrant.

"The suspect, Naneth Obias, 33, is included in the provincial recalibrated priority database on illegal drugs of Camarines Sur. Also nabbed during the operation is Obias’ live-in partner Anthony Ariola," Calubaquib said.

She added that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Camarines Sur and police of Goa municipality served the search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 58 of San Jose town in Camarines Sur.

"The operation resulted in the confiscation of two transparent plastic that was suspected to be ‘shabu’ with more or less 510 grams with a street value of PHP3.4 million," Calubaquib said.

After they were marked and documented, the pieces of evidence were turned over to the Goa municipal police station for proper disposition.

"Cases are also being prepared to be filed for the arrested suspects under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002," she added.

In a statement, Brig. Gen. Mario Reyes, PRO-5 director, said the continuous arrest of people behind illegal drugs in the region is a manifestation of the hard work of the organization and PDEA to end the menace. (PNA)
