Daily average of Covid-19 cases from July 4-10 up by 39%

MANILA – The country's daily average of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases went up by 39 percent from July 4 to 10, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday.

From 1,057 per day from June 27 to July 3, the number of Covid-19 cases reached 1,467 daily from July 4 to 10.

The latest case bulletin showed that there were 10,271 new cases and 50 verified deaths in the recent week.

For the same period, 27 cases were added to the tally of severe and critical infections, which went up to 555 from the previous week’s 497.

Only 17 percent or 411 out of the 2,414 intensive care unit (ICU) beds are in use, while 22.7 percent or 4,863 of 21,424 non-ICU beds are utilized.

To date, about 71,055,752 or 78.95 percent of the country’s target population (90,005,357) are vaccinated against Covid-19, including 77.72 percent of 8,721,357 senior citizens.

As of July 10, a total of 15,342,652 have received booster shots out of the total 71,055,752 who are fully vaccinated. (PNA)
