Weekend road repairs set in QC, Makati

MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways will resume its weekly road rehabilitation activities in several areas in two cities in Metro Manila starting Friday evening.

According to National Capital Regional (NCR) Director Nomer Abel Canlas, the repair schedule will be conducted along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa), C-5, and other roads in Makati and Quezon City.

The road rehabilitation activities will begin at 11 p.m.

In Quezon City, the continuation of repair works on the following road segments of Edsa Northbound: along Santolan MRT Station, bus lane; after P. Tuazon flyover to Aurora Tunnel, 3rd lane from center island (fast lane); after Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, 3rd lane from center island (intermittent section); and after Kamuning Road and Kamias Road to JAC Liner Bus Station, beside the center island.

Likewise, repair works will resume along Edsa Southbound, from Balingasa Creek to Oliveros Footbridge; Quirino Highway, before Manila North Diversion Road (MNDR) Flyover, 2nd inner lane; Cloverleaf Market going to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) northbound; and Cloverleaf going to NLEX southbound.

In Makati City, the second lane of C-5 Southbound will be also closed for repair.

The DPWH advised motorists to take possible alternate routes due to anticipated traffic slowdowns near construction areas.

The affected road sections are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. on Monday, July 18. (PNA)
