BACOLOD CITY – A resident here yielded PHP1.8 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in the neighboring Bago City on Thursday afternoon, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) reported on Friday.
The suspect was identified as Rex Quilong-quilong, 42, a resident of Purok Mahinangpanon in Barangay 35 here.
During the operation at around 3:12 p.m., a poseur buyer transacted with Quilong-quilong to purchase PHP500 worth of shabu along Matti Street in Barangay Poblacion.
The suspect had fled to Bago City after his brother was arrested during a sting operation at their residence here last March, according to the Bago Component City Police Station.
Operatives seized from Quilong-quilong some 275 grams of shabu worth PHP1.87 million along with five grams of suspected marijuana leaves, a .45-caliber pistol with five pieces of live ammunition, and PHP2,553 cash.
Quilong-quilong is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002.
The seized pieces of evidence were turned over to the NOCPPO Forensics Unit.
On March 19 this year, operatives of Bacolod City Police Office City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the suspect’s brother, Roy Quilong-quilong, 34, a street-level individual. (PNA)
