MANILA – Two days before President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. delivers his first State of the Nation Address (SONA), Filipinos are enthralled by digital billboards that also serve as invitation to watch the Chief Executive discuss key policies and priorities.

Advertising agency Digital Out-of-Home Philippines features Marcos' first SONA in electric billboards installed along major thoroughfares and on buildings in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Based on photos released by state-run People's Television Network (PTV), digital banners promoting Marcos' first SONA can be seen in the cities of Mandaluyong and Makati in Metro Manila, as well as in Antipolo City in Rizal and Tarlac City in Tarlac province.

The digital billboards show Marcos' image with the caption "The 2022 State of the Nation Address".

The theme for Monday's SONA is "Healing the Nation: The Journey to Economic Recovery and Transformation."

The banners are also scattered along Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City to Pasay City, Monumento to Kaingin in Caloocan City, and from the corner of Elliptical Road to the Iglesia ni Cristo central headquarters in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, according to PTV-4.

The comments section of the PTV Facebook account reflected the upbeat mood on Marcos' first report on the state of the country and his administration's agenda.

Juanito Dumalag anticipates that like him, many Filipinos would listen to the Chief Executive's speech at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City on Monday.

"GOD bless you PBBM, my President, our President, the President of the Republic of the Philippines! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Milyon Pilipino ang nanabik na mapakingan ang unang SONA ni PBBM pero mayroon din naman iilan iiyak (Long live, Philippines! Million of Filipinos are excited to hear the first SONA of PBBM, some of them will surely be emotional)," Dumalag posted.

Perla Ferrer said she is looking forward to hearing the plans of Marcos for the country.

"Sorry na lang sa iba pero kami ng nakakaraming mamamayang Pilipino ay masayang makikinig ng mga plano ng aming Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos. God bless you, aming Pangulo (Others might not agree but many of Filipinos will be happy to listen to the plans of our President Ferdinand R. Marcos. God bless, our President)," Ferrer wrote.

Raquella Reyes And Arkthony Tac hope that Marcos would be able to deliver on his promise to bring unity to the country.

"Lord, bless our President Bongbong Marcos [so] that he will be able to make our country great again with the help of the people around him. Make him safe and healthy," netizen Tita Nudo posted.

In the caption of a video montage posted on his official Facebook page, Marcos invited Filipinos to watch his first SONA.

Marcos is "very busy" preparing since he is the one drafting his speech, Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez said on Friday.

The President will focus on the administration's economic agenda and the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic response efforts, Rodriguez said.

Marcos would also discuss the proposed full reopening of classes in August and the initiatives to ensure food security. (PNA)
