DAVAO CITY – The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) will conduct on July 27 an assessment of areas here that are prone to landslides during heavy rainfall.
Chief of the CDRRMO, retired Supt. Alfredo Baloran, underscored on Monday the need to update their information regarding the status of the landslide-risk areas in the city.
“Though we assessed these areas in the past, it is important that our information about these areas are updated,” Baloran said, adding that he has tapped the help of other government offices for coordination.
The CDRRMO, along with the City Engineer’s Office and other City Hall departments, will work together for the “Walk the Creek and Walk the Slope” activities.
Baloran said experts are set to visit the creeks in La Verna, Panacan, Tibungco, and Acliban in Barangay Sto. Niño, and Puan.
After the assessment, the CDRRMO will send recommendations to the concerned offices for immediate response.
