MANILA – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Friday said it received a report that the number of fatalities in the July 27 quake have reached 10, following the recovery of four more victims earlier reported as missing.

Mark Timbal, NDRRMC spokesperson, said in a text message to reporters that the four bodies were retrieved in Abra.

"We are just waiting for the official report containing the identities and other details of the deceased," Timbal said.

As of posting time, the NDRRMC has confirmed five deaths -- all from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Still undergoing validation are one death reported in Ilocos Sur and the four still unidentified bodies recovered in Abra.

Of the 116 in the injured list, 115 are from CAR and one from Cagayan Valley. (PNA)
